A Couple Weeks

             
    after Israel, and My Ears Still felt like My Touchis: Clogged!  At the insistence of my Betrothed, I decided to see the Dr, The ENT  That is an  not the latter. After getting the All clear, and wanting to rule out other things, He Suggested I go for a hearing Examination, Where i would be wearing these sound Proof Headphones in a booth and repeating  Words after the Middle Aged Heimeshe Style woman Proctor. Most  words were Antonyms and I did have to remind myself to Repeat and not Associate, for Example She would say Cold Then Hot then Wet then Will leave it at that...... A round of Congratulations are in order to a couple of acquaintances on the Engagements of their Sons. I was able to spend a combined  49 minutes 46:34 Seconds at both functions before Anxiety Set it.To Break it down one was 31:02:25 and the other 18:44:09 the Mrs was only able to attend one... My Father told me when People take Nuts, Candy or Olives from Open Areas in a supermarket, the Store's configure it into their Prices, and its not really Stealing. What he did not tell me was How Germ infested and dirty their hands are when they do it. So when Really craving Olives from the Pomegranate Olive Bar, the Patron  ahead of me, decided to  stick his hands and  taste which olives he wanted, with out making a decision at the end. Compelled, I inconspicuously  followed him up and down the aisles listening to him coughing, The Good news was that he was not covering his mouth, So Maybe it was really OK to get the Olives..............

The Consensus

           voted  my Father The MVP of this year's Israel trip. The Highlights, Hijacking the bus to go pray Afternoon services near the Judean Dessert, by the town of kfar Adumim.  It is Agreed that, that to G0d goes all the glory, even at the expense of the twenty five other passengers, included one that was almost attacked by a rabid dog who waited over Thirty minutes for the Bus to pick them up. Ironically this happened  right by the " Good Samaritan". No one believed the claim that yours truly wanted to pray.......  Unbeknownst to my father, For Angelo's it is a special to have a Bar Mitzvah procession marching to the Western Wall, under a canopy, with music and the blowing of the Ram's Horn. So when the Bus pulled up, My Father light like a Cheetah, running like a deer, to do the Lord's Work, ushered my nephew into manhood by racing to the wall to put on his phylacteries. The Horns were blowing, the Music playing, the family Celebrating, only one thing missing. A long Twenty Minutes later, the bar Mitzvah boy was found, and crisis averted..... Other Happenings, Refusing to change prayer times in the mornings to accomadate the late coming Shammies, The Spill he took during the Torah Reading on Saturday, and of course the Breakfast..... An Honorable Mention goes to my Other Nephew for Bombing the bus with methane and thinking no one Smelled it , and eating out the Snack bar on a nightly Basis, In case ones wondering Small pringles Cost $5.93..........

Part narcissistic,

  part Superstitious, perhaps part eccentric! When Turbulence Struck On Luftansa  Flight 405 from Frankfort to Newark, My Immediate thought was is this my " Jonah and the Whale " Moment. Forgetting to order the Kosher Meal, My Rational was What can  be So bad about the Vegetarian, After all, nothing was really forbidden to eat in the Indian Style Meal. To confirm my Transgression, G0d waited for the food to settle in my rotund stomach, Before unleashing heavy winds, causing the plane to shake somewhat violently. The paranoia Kicked in, similarly like when I go to make #2 and don't want people to know, but thinking they know. Were the other Passengers looking at me, knowing and ready to Toss me out of the Airbus, to make it stop?  After Several Long Moments the Turbulence Stopped. Taking this is a warning, I declined any further meals and snacks for the duration of the flight and accepted my punishment of a 123 Minute Cab Ride home from Newark. To those keep score at home the Fee $70 Plus Tolls.............The trip.......

Sitting on

    A Airplane for an approx 210 minute flight from Munich to Lod, the only thing that came to mind was is this worse than the last Thursday’s NYC traffic.... After about 3 minutes of turbulence, the answer was pretty clear....I was  especially Gassy on the flight, but comforted by the special knowledge that my gas is not of the smelly kind, that is at least in my mind......The Uber ride I took from 79 and York to terminal B at Newark took 49 minutes, with the cost of $78.63-$15.00 for a first time customer, and perhaps a last..... The choice of Fish or Chicken on the flight, reminded me of Adult film star Lauren Phillips when asked if she preferred men or woman, seemingly stressed and pressed she shrugged her shoulders and said it was too difficult to choose, kind of like making the choice between the fish or chicken . I chose the Fish......It took less than 20 minutes to clear customers , and get my valise, and  another 30 minutes to wait for the communal cab to fill up at cost of 68 Nis roughy $19.53 the ride to Jerusalem was hardly a bargain. The passengers were annoyed by a heimeshe guy who made the bus his personal office, yentering it up and praising g0d, at almost every end of the sentences, Baruch HaShem ......

207 MINUTES

    is what took me to travel some 15 miles from my work in South Brooklyn to the Upper East Side. It's as if NYC has never seen Snow before...... Once again, I will be embarking on a week long trip to the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish People  " Maralargo". Preparations were made, prior to attending a Shabbat Dinner at one of my Betrothed Friends apartment.Just as I do prior to flying and going on long trips I ate accordingly during the day, to ensure no situations came up. Always Remember "Failure is Failure to prepare". Generally I feel VERY out of place at any Social Gatherings, but with the Modern Orthodox to yeshiva Crowd I just felt medium out of place.... As we were ushered to our seats, we were handed Guilty, Non Guilty cards, and instructed to wait until all arguments were over before submitting our vote.  My Two favorite things to do at these  kind of events, initiating the clapping ovations, and trying to keep track of the levels and sounds of the Throat clearer's, Thankfully to the weather change, the crowd did not disappoint.....  In an Unfamiliar Role, noted Defense Attorney Alan Dershowitz Served as the Prosecutor Arguing that Noah was  Selfish and complacent in G0ds Genocidal plan to flood the Earth, as he failed to warn the world of the Tragedy that was going to bestow upon them. The Defense Chaired by Former Senator and Fellow Yale law School Alumni Joe Lieberman.Whom reminded us, the almost 2000 Jurors that the Prosecution needed prove their case beyond a Reasonable Doubt and that Noah is innocent until proven otherwise, arguing he was a Just man, and that G0d is not on trial here. Former W. Bush  Attorney general Michael Mukasey served as the Judge, and oversaw the Trial as if it were a real court room. With his court room grandeur, everyone agreed that  Dershowitz made a more compelling case, However Noah Was voted, Not Guilty by a 1299- 587 count. Walking out we were treated to " Rich peoples" Croissants and Danishes and told to stay tune for next Years Biblical Trial.   The People Vs Joseph's brother's or the more obscure case of the People V Pinhas, Which would be more suitable, except most people are Unaware of whom Pinhas was, let alone a whole Torah Portion, I know that from my Bar Mitzvah............

Despite My

     Wife's objection, it was with great confidence and 99 percent accuracy that I can tell the severity of the Smell of my Farts. With out Explanation, I Just know.... Upon finishing, he says to me $30. “I paid you man” I protested, where he said “no it’s 30 for the Lulav and 30 for the Esrog”. Losing my tempermanet, I chastitsed the young man, for taking advantage of people that “don’t know “, but I happened to know. Storming off I felt badly, perhaps this young man needed the money, and had to resort to pilferage. I did not get the set, and I did not get my money back, telling the kid to donate it to the Chabad stand right near him.....coming up the Islamic day parade and festival, and UN week, with a major anti- israel protest, called for Thursday by the neturi karta and satmar sects .....

The Prayer for SusTenancE

 

   is with out a doubt, probably one of the most important Prayers of the high Holiday Season. Here is what we need to know

1)   The prayer  states "please provide that way I can do the work of the lord" so its basically G0d provides and you become religious in exchange

2) Clearly it's unfair to the Patron who purchases the Honor  of Opening the Arc that others interlope on his space. A reader suggested a Bouncer be placed with a club Style Velvet Rope, With the Purchaser allowing admittance to stand by the coveted Arc

3) Once the Prayer is done, the Arc Should be closed. Some consider it an Embarrassment to the Torah to keep the Arc opened well after the prayer is completed

4) Every Season,more and More Ingenious ideas are implemented  in order to raise additional funds,I particularly enjoy the one where for a Fee the Rabbi would either have you're name in my mind or will read your name out loud by the Arc so the " goldmine in the sky" shall open up -  to Expand on this, perhaps we need a prayer package system, that can be inclusive to all congregants. A recommendation a Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze package where for the more you pay, the more fervor and intensity will be added by the rabbi. This would work some wheres along the line of Car wash packages or even Seating's at an event, Why restrict it to the select elite general Admission, when you can sell out the Nose Bleeds in the as well

5) For the Dreamers, bring in you're Lotto tickets and have the Rabbi have them in mind, it does get tricky as not everyone can win, but it will enhance you're odds

The Verdict

               After failing to settle the dispute amicably, it was time to allow the mills of justice to grind. At the behest of a a mutual friend, We decided to avoid a court of law and have a local community scholar and scion arbitrate the case. Both Agreeing that based on his rulings Agreements must be honored. My thinking was how can anyone rational not see the   "partnership” argument, every deal that was made was a 50-50 split, sounds simple enough. I brought a slew of papers and snap photos of our chats to solidify the proof, and I feel quite confident. My opponent Began his argument by stating he knows me for 15 some odd years, and that he used to “work “ for me, and alluded that I am maybe involved in shady dealings. Thus immediately taking a shot at my character and trying to defame me. Immediately I interjected by claiming that he worked for me for ONE day and attacking me in that manner was both Insolent and irresponsible. Continuing with his Narrative,  I was Astounded by the claim that he was MISLEAD, regarding the vendor, who we both agreed was perhaps Shoddy, but we both met with and were in constant contact with him, particularly him since he needed to obtain some legal documents. Closing out his argument " the Bottom line, your company, your contacts, your everything" and here is where he pulled out his TRUMP card  "why would i risk $9000 to make $1500( just a figure) I'm not Stupid". Perhaps not as seasoned as my adversary, I began by presenting my argument, There was no Signed contracts, No Recordings of the dealings, Just a simple Handshake between one time friends. I proceeded to make my case, offering to present evidence, of paperwork and conversations etc. The Scholar paused for a few Seconds and then asked " If one gets 50% of the profits, Does that make him a partner, perhaps hes just a salesman with High commission"  I felt the football spiked in my face, I was being exploited and taken advantage and now I'm Being told that " I am Stupid enough to risk my $18,000 to make $1500 for me and $1500 for my " Salesman".  The Scholar looking to please everyone, concluded by saying I see every one's point, and ruled on a much smaller sum that i had hoped for. The Bickering after that was reminscent of the 2002  "Church of Nativity Stand off negotiations"  over such petty and minor details as far as whose gonna sign off on the suit, and what denominations of the bills would be. Then,  Much Like Bill Clinton Pushing Arafat and Rabin, the Scholar pushed us to Shake hands and make even a "Cold" Peace. Defeated, I  Meekly and begrudgingly, extended my hand and felt that squishy plums feeling. " Remember what the Amalakite did you, on the way out of Egypt.................Oblitrate the remembrance of the Amalakite from beneath the heavens.... never to forget".... perhaps not to that Extreme, after all it's only Money............

The lOw Life

       Often in Business Dispute arise, Sometines from Vendor to Buyer, partner to partner etc, An interesting circumstance came about of which i felt compelled to address it. I will present the Facts  not  Kelly Anne Coneway "Alternative facts" or none of which with all due respect to Mr Wolfe " if it rings true, then it must be True" kind of facts but Rather Established ones in other words a "Fait Accompli"..............

   Two Friends in Separate Business Partner up on Specialized Deals of which one brings in the Deals,and handles all the logistics of the deal i.e delivery, Storage, packing, shipping etc. The other partner is responsible for obtaining orders if their are any and handling the Shipping information as well as all activities related with the buyer i.e legal, remittance, returns, damages, etc. Each partner agrees to put up fifty percent of the Money and in share equally in All Profits and losses. Sounds Simple. What would turn one partner to label the other a lOw life......( Please note that names have been changed and deleted to protect the innocent, and to give the NON lOw life Partner a platform to respond)

 I am a lOw life because

1. I always fronted the Money for all deals with out ever getting one cent from the other partner

2. I cut down on Expenses by avoiding paying and Labor fees, often doing the manual labor on my own

3. I made sure that once an Invoice was paid, and the check cleared, The other partner would receive his share of the money by the next day the latest, Sometimes going to deposit the money in the spirit of Partnership and good will.

4. Despite telling one partner to wait until we got paid from a vendor who was overdue, he took out lets throw out a figure of  $3904.00 from a credit card to make sure his rent was paid

5. As Partners we both met with the Vendor, Communicated with him Frequently, and when it came to any Legal matters, such as letters from the Manufacturer it was Strictly approved by one partner, Despite potentially being invalid, and have potentail consequences. But Certainly he was mislead as he claims.

6.  I had the audacity that After roughly 16 Months  asking to  be compensated for  the losses that have been incurred as part of the original Agreement, The temerity and nerve!!

7. After coming to a Watered down Agreement roughly Two Months ago, I was told that I needed to wait until we get paid, and that I am not trusted should we get paid, that he would recieve his share
